Was the Fantasy as Good as the Reality…?  We say yes!

We had picked the south of France because we had been there before and assumed the culture shock and stark raving fear we were experiencing due to becoming homeless and only owning what we could carry would not be as harsh.  We made a good choice, it was better than we remembered.

Hyatt Palais, Nice. We got this great room for free by using points for two days. We wanted to be over our jetlag before we held our breath about our choice for a one month stay in San Rafael.

This is actually the waiting room for the restaurant at Le Negresco Hotel in Nice. We watched little kids race around in these antique toy cars surrounded by 500 year old art. Welcome to France.

Fingers crossed we headed for San Rafael which we had never even heard of before I found an AirBnB that I liked online.

“Le Apartment” We really love this place. It is 1900’s era with ultra modern amenities. Including “Darth Invasive” the fully automated Toilette.

I dare not get closer or his jaws of humiliation open and threatening gurgling sounds begin.
The Heart of the Beast. If I could master its strange and alien hieroglyphics perhaps I could stop this highly invasive menace before it traumatizes others.

“Don’t Kill the Endangered Octopus.” Ruth loves to discover Octopi while diving.  They are her favorite sea creature.  I have also personally witnessed her eating them in sushi bars.  Hmmm?
